Requesting Administrative Changes Form
THECB Administrative Changes Form
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has streamlined its processes by consolidating multiple forms into a single form for various requested administrative changes. UT Dallas school and/or program faculty can indicate on the THECB form the specific administrative change request(s) for the following types:
- Semester Credit Hours (SCH) Changes
- Classification of Instructional Program (CIP Code) Changes
- Modality Changes or Additions (e.g., offer existing programs online)
- Degree [or Certificate] Program Title or Degree Program Designation
- New, Change, or Closure of Off-Campus-Program (e.g., offer existing program off-campus)
- Program Closure (consolidate or close degree, minor, or certificate program)
- Funding Model Change/Addition (e.g., offer self-supporting cohort or executive education version of an existing program) and THECB Enrollment & Budget Spreadsheet
- Administrative Unit Changes (redlined copy of how changes will appear in the THECB program inventory; the Office of Institutional Success and Decision Support (OISDS) will assist as needed)
- All Other Changes
a. Establish a New School (or College or Division)
b. Establish a New Department
c. Change College, School or Department Name and Retain Existing Degree Programs
d. Administrative Movement of Existing Degree Programs from an Academic Unit to Another Academic Unit
Some of these types of changes no longer require approval by The UT System Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) but still require THECB approval. Other administrative changes continue to require approval from both The UT System OAA and THECB.
Additionally, some of these administrative changes, for example, adding and/or closing a delivery modality, may require Southern Association of Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) notification and/or approval per its Substantive Change Policy and Procedures.
For assistance with any administrative change request, please email Dr. Serenity Rose King, associate vice president for institutional success and decision support or call 972.883.6749. She will assist the UT Dallas school and/or program faculty by shepherding these administrative changes through the appropriate internal and external governance processes. For convenience, the visual flow chart for these administrative changes is displayed here to assist faculty to understand the internal and external governance process at a glance.
