Overview

Academic officials will work in concert with Dr. Inga H. Musselman, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, and Eric Van Leeuwen, Associate Provost for Curricular Services, to prepare proposals for new programs and substantive, non-substantive and administrative changes.

Van Leeuwen will route proposals to The University of Texas System (UT System) and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) for their review and approval as applicable. Additionally, Van Leeuwen will work with Dr. Raul Hinojosa Jr., Assistant Vice President of Policy and Process Improvement and Accreditation Liaison, when routing proposals to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for their review and approval as applicable.

Degree program approvals require preliminary authority requests which must be approved by Musselman prior to Van Leeuwen submitting it to the THECB.

A consultation may be scheduled with Van Leeuwen to explore or expedite the various program proposal processes. For additional assistance, please email Eric Van Leeuwen or call him at 972-883-4249
