Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1-2:30 p.m., Microsoft Teams: FS Workshop: Setting up a Lab and Getting your Research Started. You will receive valuable information as a new faculty member preparing to set up your lab, including doing human subject research.
Tuesday, Aug. 19, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center: Comet Launch: New Faculty Orientation. Welcomes and integrates new faculty into the
institution, providing essential information about policies, resources and
expectations while fostering connections among colleagues to support a
smooth transition and preparation for their roles in teaching, research and
service.

Friday, Sept. 5, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., McDermott Suite (MC 4.4): Mentor Orientation Meeting. Introduces mentors to their roles and responsibilities, providing guidelines and resources to help them support and guide their mentees. It aims to ensure mentors are well-prepared to foster professional growth and development.

Panelists will share insider tips on how to strengthen your submissions, improve your writing and navigate the publication process. Learn practical strategies to enhance your chances of getting published and gain insight into how to respond to reviewer feedback and handle rejections effectively.
Friday, Nov. 14, 9-10 a.m.: Faculty Mentor Check-In. Brief session for faculty mentors to reflect on their experience so far. Share what’s working well, the types of questions you’re receiving from your mentees and whether the mentor-mentee relationship is progressing effectively. This check-in also offers an opportunity to raise any concerns and exchange ideas with other mentors.

Friday, Feb. 13, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., McDermott Suite (MC 4.4): FS Workshop: The Road from Associate to Full Professor. Provides associate professors with clarity on the steps they need to take to reach the next milestone in their careers. The workshop will begin with an overview of the promotion process, presented by Dr. Mehrdad Nourani, Senior Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs. We then will break into groups by school, where you will have the opportunity to answer questions and provide guidance to faculty members from your school.
