New Faculty Orientation

Provides opportunities for new faculty members to integrate into the UT Dallas community and connect with colleagues.

Workshops

Faculty and academic leaders address topics important to faculty members, and mentors also can attend training sessions.

Social Events

Regularly scheduled get-togethers encourage collaboration and community-building in a casual, welcoming environment.

Mentor-Mentee Matches

New faculty are paired with experienced mentors from their school based on shared interests and career goals.

Midyear Check-Ins

Faculty can schedule one-on-one meetings with Dr. Meghna Sabharwal, Associate Provost for Faculty Success.

Awards

Provost’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Mentoring honors both tenure-system and nontenure-system faculty.

Mentorships = Relationships

Dr. Jason Slinker (above, left) is the mentor, and Dr. Zihao Ou is the mentee. But the Faculty Mentoring Program has made them much more than just new acquaintances. It has made them tight-knit colleagues. Find out how the program helps new faculty feel right at home no matter where they’re from.
