Mentoring Connections: Dr. Lobariñas-Dr. Suthakar

Dr. Edward Lobariñas was delighted when the hiring committee he served on recommended the hiring of Dr. Kirupa Suthakar, and she was equally happy when he was chosen as her mentor. “We just hit it off right away,” he said. International Research Excellence Is a Top Priority

That picturesque view is of Inveraray Castle in Scotland, one of the many landmarks Hobson Wildenthal Honors College students saw during their international research experiences this summer. The Honors College Dean, Dr. Donal Skinner, is aiming high in his dream for UT Dallas: “I want this to become the No. 1 destination in the United States for meaningful, high impact undergrad research experiences.” Trips to four European countries went a long way toward achieving that goal.

What the Provost Does

Mission statement: To inspire innovation and academic excellence at UT Dallas by ensuring that the schools, centers and other units collaborate to provide exceptional instruction in a research-oriented setting.

Dr. Inga H. Musselman

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost

Dr. Inga H. Musselman’s responsibilities include faculty hiring and advancement, academic programs and facilities, and budget priorities and budget allocations for the seven UT Dallas schools. She is the University’s primary contact with the Office of Academic Affairs for The University of Texas System.
