Professional Licensure Disclosure for the UTeach Dallas Programs

Both the Teacher Development Center and UTeach Dallas prepare UT Dallas students for teaching certification for their undergraduate and/or graduate programs in Texas. Teaching certification can only be done by the state of Texas and may not meet education requirements for a license or certification in other states if you live outside of Texas.

If you are planning to teach in another state, it is critical to contact the respective state education agency in that state to obtain the most accurate and updated information regarding state licensure or certification requirements before beginning an academic program. The U.S. Department of Education has a list of respective education agencies in the United States, Commonwealths and Territories, and Freely Associated States; they are recorded below. However, UT Dallas cannot determine whether the completion of its teacher education programs will meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or teaching certification outside of Texas.
