The Texas Biomedical Device Center at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) invites applications for Research Assistant Professor. Qualified candidates must hold a PhD degree and possess a track record of scientific research in the field of systems neuroscience. The applicant’s record should demonstrate the ability to provide research leadership, have developed a record of scientific scholarship and successful research grant writing. Faculty will be expected to maintain an externally funded research program to support their salary and research program. The faculty will take a leadership role in administering the research missions of the center with a focus on improving speech sound processing and neural plasticity in the auditory system.

Created in the spring of 2012, the Texas Biomedical Device Center is a key component of UTD's growth strategy. We are interested in recruiting candidates prepared to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment with scientists, engineers and clinicians.

The University of Texas at Dallas is situated in Richardson, one of the most attractive suburbs of the Dallas metropolitan area with several hundred high-tech companies within a few miles of the campus, including Texas Instruments, St. Jude Medical, Abbott Laboratories, Greatbatch, Lockheed Martin, Cirtec Medical, and Zyvex.
