The University of Texas at Dallas, a rapidly growing university in the DFW Metroplex, invites applications for a faculty position in condensed matter theory in the Department of Physics. A successful candidate will have a PhD in Physics or equivalent and a record of research accomplishments reflecting a broad range of interests. While this position is anticipated to be at the assistant professor level, individuals with particularly strong credentials may be considered for other ranks. A strong commitment to teaching, at both the undergraduate and advanced graduate levels, is essential. We seek a person with the ability to develop collaborative interactions with experimentalists, both within the Physics Department and across the campus. Among current experimental interests are electronic, optical and low-temperature properties of nanostructured, hybrid and complex materials, including organic and biophysical systems.

The University of Texas at Dallas, located just north of Dallas in Richardson, Texas, now has an enrollment of nearly 20,000 students. It has been designated by the State of Texas as one of seven emerging universities to be encouraged to become a major research campus. UTD maintains close ties with the nearby University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and major corporate entities in the Metroplex.
