Faculty Position in Physics - Condensed Matter Experimental (pnh131024)
The University of Texas at Dallas, a rapidly growing university in the DFW Metroplex, invites applications for a faculty position in experimental condensed matter physics in the Department of Physics. A successful candidate will have a PhD in Physics or equivalent and a record of research accomplishments reflecting a broad range of interests in experimental condensed matter physics and materials physics, and nanomaterials/nanoscale physics. While this position is anticipated to be at the assistant professor level, individuals with particularly strong credentials may be considered for other ranks. A strong commitment to teaching, at both the undergraduate and advanced graduate levels, is essential. We seek a person with experience in studies of novel low-dimensional, layered or interfacial systems and the potential to attract external funding for graduate education and the ability to develop collaborative interactions with other experimentalists and theorists, both within the Physics Department and across the campus, and particularly with Nanotech Institute and Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Department of Bioengineering of UTD.
The University of Texas at Dallas, located just north of Dallas in Richardson, Texas, now has an enrollment of nearly 20,000 students. It has been designated by the State of Texas as one of seven emerging universities to be encouraged to become a major research campus. UTD maintains close ties with the nearby University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and major corporate entities in the Metroplex.
