The University of Texas at Dallas seeks applications for postdoctoral fellows in support of its research programs in the broad area of the Social Sciences, including economics, geographic information systems, political science, public administration, sociology, criminology, and educational research. Successful candidates will have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, a record of scholarly productivity appropriate to his or her history and discipline, a minimum of 3 - 5 years of extensive experience working with large data sets, and experience in supervising and/or collaborating with other researchers. Appointments vary in length between one and three years; specific start dates are negotiable. Preference will be given to those candidates whose research interfaces with existing research projects or that cross disciplinary lines.

The School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences engages postdoctoral fellows to engage in extramural research in support of existing research programs and to assist in mentoring promising graduate students at all levels of expertise. Successful candidates may also engage in independent research projects. Some fellows may also be required to teach primarily at the main campus, although some courses may be taught at other locations throughout the Metroplex. Courses are offered between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and may include lecture, laboratory, seminar, and distance education formats, among others.
