The Executive Master of Science in Justice Administration and Leadership (JAL) Program is housed within the Department of Criminology at the University of Texas at Dallas. The program provides students with a coherent and intellectually challenging degree that prepares a new generation of leaders to manage and administer criminal justice and other social service agencies. The program delivers an innovative and integrated curriculum that connects such key components of leadership as human resource management, organizational change, policy analysis, administration and management, and conflict resolution to prepare students for leadership positions.
The JAL Program seeks a half-time Assistant Director and Senior Lecturer to provide administrative and teaching support for the program. This is a non-tenured faculty position. The successful candidate will be required to teach at least one graduate course per long semester as well as advice students in their academic endeavors while in the program. In addition, the Assistant Director will be responsible for various administrative duties including budget preparation and maintenance, recruitment of students, maintenance of student records, writing correspondence and reports relevant to the program and assisting the Director in the general leadership and development of the program. The position requires a doctoral degree in criminal justice, criminology, public affairs or a related field; however candidates that are ABO and expected to graduate within a year of appointment are encouraged to apply.
