Cognitive Neuroscience of Aging, School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences

The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-system position in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience of Aging. The appointment begins September 1, 2010.

Applicants should hold the doctorate in a relevant area and have a record of successful research achievement commensurate with their level of experience. The successful applicant will have an extensive background in cognitive neuroscience research using neuro-imaging methods, particularly fMRI. Experience in task development and sophisticated image collection and analysis is essential. Multimodal and/or high resolution imaging experience is desired, as is a demonstrated potential for extramural federal funding.

While the position will likely be hired at the Assistant or Associate level, outstanding senior applicants with a history of successful peer-reviewed research funding are strongly encouraged to apply. Competitive salaries and start-up packages are available.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary research group that includes prominent cognitive neuroscientists at UT Dallas as well as nationally visible neurologists and biophysicists at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, all focused on the cognitive neuroscience of aging. The Advanced Imaging Research Center includes extensive research-dedicated neuro-imaging facilities, including 3T and 7T magnets as well as a PET Scanner dedicated to brain imaging. All research facilities and laboratories are conveniently located within a six-block radius.
