BIOL 2311 - Introduction to Modern Biology I (3 semester hours) Presentation of some of the fundamental concepts of modern biology, with an emphasis on the molecular and cellular basis of biological phenomena. Topics include the chemistry and metabolism of biological molecules, elementary classical and molecular genetics, and selected aspects of developmental biology, physiology (including hormone action), immunity, and neurophysiology. Prerequisites: CHEM 1311 and 1312 (General Chemistry I and II). Corequisite: BIOL 2111. (3-0) S
